Chittorgarh Fort.

The Greed of Alauddin Khilji
Far away in Delhi ruled the powerful Sultan
Alauddin Khilji.
When he heard stories of Rani Padmini’s beauty, he became obsessed with seeing her.
He attacked Chittor and demanded to see the queen.
🪞 The Mirror Trick
To protect her honor, a clever plan was made.
Rani Padmini agreed to let Alauddin Khilji see her reflection—not her directly.
Using mirrors, the Sultan was shown only her reflection.
But even that glimpse increased his desire to capture Chittor.
Betrayal and Capture
Alauddin Khilji used trickery.
He invited King Ratan Singh for a meeting and then captured him.
He demanded:
👉 “Send Rani Padmini to me if you want your king back.”
This was a moment of great danger.

Rani Padmini did not lose courage.
She planned a daring rescue:
Soldiers disguised as attendants went in palanquins
They entered the enemy camp
Suddenly, they attacked and freed the king
It was a brilliant and brave move.
The Siege of Chittor
Angered by this, Alauddin Khilji attacked Chittor with full force.
A fierce battle began.
The Rajput warriors fought bravely, knowing:
They were outnumbered
But they would never surrender
Jauhar – The Ultimate Sacrifice
When defeat became certain, Rani Padmini made a painful but courageous decision.
To protect their honor, she and many women performed Jauhar.
They entered the sacred fire, choosing dignity over capture.
Meanwhile, the men went to battle, ready to fight till their last breath.
